Jack Astro Title Card - Engie

This title card was created for my student film Jack Astro which can be found on the official Jack Astro Instagram along with the socials of everyone else on the team for this production. I strongly pushed for this character & the writing for him, our character designer Ericka Palangan made the final design that appeared here.
Fun fact: Engie is short for Engineer, the crew call him engie as no one knows his real name. Furthermore, in a cut scene it's revealed that he came with the ship.

I experimented a lot with this piece as I wanted to make it weird & wacky to match the character it's portraying.

This is the background, it's three squares on different layers on different blend modes. They were later detailed with lines implying direction, drawing the eye to Engie.

This is the base colour. The line art was black before I alpha-locked it & coloured it an aqua-light blue-violet gradient.

This is the shading which was similarly alpha-locked then coloured.

This is the divisive-modulo version that gives it a cool amount of transparency.

This one is one of my favourites, it's the modulo shift version which creates this almost retro feeling to the piece.
