Jack Astro - Pre Production
These are my various contributions to the visual direction of the short film Jack Astro.
Most of my contributions came in the form of the writing as I was the co-writer of the short.
Some concepts & characters made it in while others did not.
The short has been finished & can be found on the official Jack Astro Instagram along with the socials of all other members on the production.
The full line up of characters I designed & wrote for the second round of voting for the group.
One of my early designs for the Engineer. Although at this point he actually had a name.
This is the second round design of Silbie based on a silhouette designed by Ericka.
This was a character I wrote & designed that sadly never made it in.
Vene was my pitch for the lancer character, his bit being that he's better fit to be the hero than Jack. Vene ended up becoming the sixth ranger character instead.
This is Ankura, a character I designed a few years ago for a different story. Me and my co-writer thought it would be fun if we crossed over our scifi IP's. I contributed one of my villains who made it into an early version of the script.
Luckily the design for Ankura was a hit with the team & they inexplicably asked me to recreate a meme with the character.
This was my design for the exterior & interior for the two ships featured in the short. These were adapted into 3D models by our brilliant 3D specialist Harrison Godfrey.
This was an early storyboard for a scene that I made as soon as I wrote it into the script.
This part got cut from the final product as Ceres being kidnapped & IRA stolen got cut.
This was a vertical slice for the scene that guided the direction of the scene.
